How do I locate my MAC address?
Windows (any version)
- Click the Start Menu button.
- In the search bar, type “cmd.exe” then click on “cmd.exe” in the list.
- If you can’t find cmd.exe that way, instead click on “Run” (or press Windows + R).
- In the Run window, type “cmd.exe” and press enter or click “Ok“.
- In the command prompt type “getmac /v /fo list” and press enter.
Windows 7
- Click the Start Menu button.
- Click on “Control Panel“.
- Select “Network and Sharing Center“. If you can’t find it, make sure at the top right it says “View by: Large Icons” (the default is “View by: Category“).
- Select “Local area connection” from the right side of the screen. If you are on a wireless connection, it may say “Wireless Network Connection”.
- In the new window that opens, click “Details“.
(Look for the physical address. The address you want looks like “5C-14-DD-94-3F-C2”)
Mac
- Click on the Apple menu at the top left. of your screen.
- Select “System Preferences“.
- Select “Network“.
- In the left hand column, choose either “AirPort” (a.k.a. “Wi-Fi“), or “Built-in Ethernet” (a.k.a. “Ethernet“). If you want to connect by wire and have the option of connecting wirelessly, please submit two different MAC addresses.
- Click “Advanced“. Click on either the “Hardware“, “Ethernet” or “AirPort” tab.
(Here you will see the MAC address next to a label such as “MAC Address:”, “Ethernet ID:”, or “AirPort ID:” . It looks like “00-FF-DD-33-AE-BB”)
Android
- Open the “Settings” app. If you do not know where it is, start by clicking on the Apps list. Then swipe to the right to scroll through the list of apps.
- When you are in the Settings App, scroll to the very bottom and select “About phone”.
- Select “Status”.
- Scroll to the bottom and look for “Wi-Fi MAC address“.
(The address you want looks like “00:14:c6:d0:94:30”)
iOS (iPhone, iPad)
- Tap “Settings“.
- Tap “General“.
- Tap “About“.
- Scroll to the bottom and look for “Wi-Fi Address“.
(Your MAC address will look like “00:FF:33:44:AA:DD”)
